Description
Leonardo the Lion: As Easy as Pie is the third in its series. In this story, Leonardo and his friends are coping with the loss of a loved one. The Leonardo the Lion stories each explore different challenges that children and students encounter today: fears and obstacles about making new friends, being accepted by others, and diversity within their community, with the core of every lesson being centered around love, kindness, and respect. In As Easy as Pie, Geo (the giraffe) is having a difficult time grieving and has become withdrawn. His family and friends are concerned about his distance and absence. In times of mourning, it can be difficult to find the right words to say, often feeling like we are searching for the perfect words to make it all better for the person we care about. This story addresses that and teaches the importance of just being there for someone. Searching for the perfect words is impossible… But being there for someone is as easy as pie. These books are great for both read-alouds and silent reading. Age range 4 to 8 years old. We invite you to join Leonardo and his friends again on their adventures and add As Easy as Pie to your collection.

My son and I love Leonardo the Lion series and this book was definitely a very emotional one. Not many children books talk about loosing a parent and coping with the loss of a loved one. This book was beautifully written. Bravo to the author. Highly recommended.
